Parenting
Resources for parents learning to read their own and their child’s nervous systems, and to lead from the regulated state.

Each psychoeducation page is checked against current Australian source authorities (RANZCP, APS, AASW, OT Australia, Beyond Blue, Headspace, Black Dog Institute) and updated at least annually.
Parenting is, among other things, the long practice of co-regulating someone else while also regulating yourself. The handouts here translate adult psychoeducation (window of tolerance, attachment, fight/flight/freeze/fawn) into a frame parents can use both for their child and for themselves.

Frequently asked questions
What if a parent says they cannot regulate before responding?+
Validate first — most parents who feel that way are running on chronic sleep debt and unmet needs of their own. The Maslow and Window of Tolerance handouts are usually more useful here than parenting-skill handouts.
