Why Audio Only?
Grounded Scribe uses browser-based screen capture to access the audio stream from your video call tab. The video track is used only to identify which telehealth platform is running, then immediately discarded — only the audio track is captured. No video frames are recorded at any point.
Your microphone audio and the remote participant's audio are mixed into a single stream, transcribed using healthcare-grade AI, and the audio file is permanently deleted from our servers after transcription completes. Only the clinical note remains.
No video recorded
The video track is used only to identify the source, then immediately stopped. Zero video frames are captured or stored.
No screen content captured
Screen sharing visuals, chat messages, and on-screen content are never recorded — only the audio track is used.
Audio deleted after transcription
Audio files are processed and permanently deleted from our servers after successful transcription. Only the text remains.
Client sees nothing different

How It Works
Select the tab or window running your video call, record the audio, and receive a structured clinical note from your chosen template — the same three-step process used for in-person sessions, with no additional software required.
Select Telehealth Mode
Choose "Telehealth (Audio)" from the recording dropdown. Your browser will ask you to select the tab or window running your video call.
Audio Is Captured
Your microphone and the remote audio from your video call are mixed together. The provider is identified and confirmed on screen. No video is recorded.
AI Generates Your Note
When the session ends, the audio is transcribed and a clinical note is generated using your chosen template — ready to review, edit, and save.

Not supported for telehealth audio capture. Standard microphone recording is still available on all browsers.
Tip: If your telehealth platform runs as a desktop application (e.g. the Zoom desktop app), you can still capture its audio by selecting the application window when prompted. For browser-based telehealth sessions, select the specific tab running the call.
